What Is in This Photograph?

Shot straight down from a drone, so the trucks read as three shapes on a field of wet orange-brown ground pocked with dark water and old tyre tracks. What Is the Raptor R?

The V8 Raptor. Instead of the standard truck's 3.5-litre High-Output EcoBoost V6, it carries a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 related to the Shelby GT500 engine, rated at 700 horsepower for the 2023 model year and raised to 720 for 2024. The rest of the Raptor package is unchanged: long-travel suspension, Fox Live Valve dampers, ten-speed automatic and 37-inch tyre availability.

What Is a Media Drive?

A manufacturer event where motoring journalists are given a new vehicle on prepared terrain, with photographers and drone operators present. It is where most of the action imagery of a new truck is produced, in a compressed window with multiple vehicles available at once, which is why frames showing three identical trucks together exist at all.
