Carrozzeria GranSport was founded in 1957 in Modena, Italy, by Pietro Vaccari and Fernando Baccarini. Its craftsmen built the bodies for five of the six original Shelby Daytona Coupes created for Carroll Shelby’s 1964–1965 racing seasons.

Powered by Ford’s 289-cubic-inch V8, the Daytona Coupe became a defining car of the era. At Le Mans in 1964, Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant drove the GranSport-bodied CSX2299 to victory in its GT class. In his published history of the six Coupes, designer Pete Brock records speeds of more than 196 mph on the Mulsanne Straight during their winning run.

Today GranSport is located in Lugano, Switzerland, about two hours from Modena. We are dedicated to the same high level of craftsmanship and innovation that began in Modena in 1957.

Our luxury clothing and motorsport accessories will launch in spring 2027, seventy years after the founding of the original Carrozzeria GranSport.
