What Was the First Bronco?

Launched in 1966 as a compact, short-wheelbase four-wheel drive with a removable top, built to compete with the Jeep CJ and International Scout. That first generation ran to 1977 and established the look the current truck quotes directly: the flat panels, the round headlamps set inside a square grille with BRONCO lettering, and the boxy, upright stance.

What Did the 2021 Relaunch Change?

Bronco returned in 2021 after a 25-year absence, as a body-on-frame four-wheel drive with removable doors and roof panels, independent front suspension, and trims running from base through Wildtrak and Badlands to the 418-horsepower Bronco Raptor.
