This official archive poster marks Ford's 1967 Le Mans victory, combining a period photograph of the starting grid with bold graphic type reading '67 Ford MkIV Winner, Le Mans France.

About This Image

This is a poster, not a photograph: a period image of the Le Mans starting grid combined with bold graphic type celebrating Ford's 1967 victory with the GT Mk IV.

What Is in This Poster?

The upper two thirds show the grid at the Circuit de la Sarthe, cars angled nose-out along the pit wall with mechanics and officials moving between them, hand-tinted so the liveries read red, blue, green and yellow against a bleached sky. Beneath it, set in heavy condensed capitals, runs the legend: '67, FORD MKIV WINNER, LE MANS FRANCE, the numerals in red and orange over a yellow band.

What Does It Commemorate?

Dan Gurney and A. J. Foyt won the 1967 Le Mans 24 Hours outright in the number 1 Ford GT Mk IV, leading all but the first ninety minutes and finishing four laps clear of the Ferrari 330 P4 of Ludovico Scarfiotti and Mike Parkes. They covered 388 laps and 5,232.9 kilometres at an average of 218 km/h from a field of 54 starters, a distance record that stood until 1990. The Mk IV was designed and built in the United States on a new aluminium honeycomb chassis, making it an all-American win: car, team and drivers.

Why Choose a Poster Rather Than a Photograph?

Graphic work of this kind was made to be read across a room. The flat colour blocks and heavy type hold their weight at large sizes and in strong light in a way that a continuous-tone black and white print does not, which is why period-style racing posters work in garages, showrooms and stairwells where a quieter photograph would disappear.

Who Is This Print For?

This Le Mans poster suits Ford GT collectors, endurance racing enthusiasts, poster and graphic art collectors, garage interiors and dealership showrooms. Poster artwork reads from a distance and tolerates a large format, which makes it a better choice than a photograph for a high wall or a double garage. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.

Framed Print

Our framed prints feature a black, hand-stained solid wood frame with a white mat, museum-quality paper, archival inks, Acrylite glazing, and hanging hardware. The frame features a slim 0.8-inch face and projects 1.3 inches from the wall, creating a clean, contemporary shadow-box effect. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Stretched Canvas

Our stretched canvas prints are produced on acid-free, pH-neutral, and fade-resistant canvas. Each canvas is hand-glued to solid wood stretcher bars and stretched over 1.25-inch-thick pine bars. Mounting brackets are included. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Giclée Art Print

Our Giclée prints are produced using premium 200gsm semi-gloss paper and high-quality archival inks. Each print includes a white border around the perimeter.

For the 40 x 60 size, we use 250gsm museum-quality archival paper with an off-white, uncoated finish.

The listed size refers to the overall paper dimensions. The image is printed proportionally within the selected paper size. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

ChromaLuxe

ChromaLuxe prints use a state-of-the-art coating process that infuses the image directly onto sheets of alloy metal. The result is photography with an exceptional combination of vibrancy, clarity, and durability.

Each print arrives ready to hang. An alloy subframe on the back allows the artwork to float away from the wall for a sleek, modern appearance. This is the finest-quality print we offer. Made in the USA.
