What Is in This Photograph?

Why Did the Model A Matter?

Because it replaced the Model T. Ford stopped building the T in 1927 and retooled for an entirely new car with a conventional three-speed gearbox, four-wheel brakes and a 40 horsepower four-cylinder engine, introduced late in 1927 for the 1928 model year. The roadster was the lightest and cheapest open body in the range, and the first year cars are distinguished by details the company changed almost immediately.
