This archival photograph shows a 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt GT at dusk above a city skyline — one of 5,582 built, with a 265 horsepower 4.6-litre V8.

About This Image

A Mustang Bullitt GT photographed at dusk on high ground, with a city skyline behind it and the sky turning violet.

What Is in This Photograph?

A three-quarter front view from slightly below the belt line, taken in the last of the light. The car is dark, so the shape is drawn by the skyline behind and by a low warm light along the flank. The Bullitt's distinguishing features are visible: the smooth body sides without a side scoop, the brushed fuel filler, the five-spoke wheels and the lowered stance. The city is rendered as silhouette and pinpoint lights, which places the car without competing with it.

What Is the Bullitt GT?

A 2001 special edition of the Mustang GT built around the Steve McQueen film. Ford produced 5,582 of them, with a 4.6-litre V8 rated at 265 horsepower thanks to revised airflow, along with lowered and retuned suspension, larger brakes and the retro five-spoke wheels (CJ Pony Parts, NetCarShow). It was the first of three Bullitt generations, followed by the 2008 to 2009 and 2019 to 2020 cars (AmericanMuscle).

Why Shoot It Against a City?

Because the reference is a city chase. The 1968 film is the reason the car exists, and putting it on a hillside above a skyline at dusk is a direct quotation of that idea without reproducing any scene from it. The setting does the work of the name.

Who Is This Print For?

This Bullitt print suits Mustang owners, Bullitt edition owners, film and McQueen enthusiasts, dealership showrooms and study interiors. The dusk palette is unusually decorative for a car photograph, which makes it easier to hang in a living space than a track image. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.

Framed Print

Our framed prints feature a black, hand-stained solid wood frame with a white mat, museum-quality paper, archival inks, Acrylite glazing, and hanging hardware. The frame features a slim 0.8-inch face and projects 1.3 inches from the wall, creating a clean, contemporary shadow-box effect. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Stretched Canvas

Our stretched canvas prints are produced on acid-free, pH-neutral, and fade-resistant canvas. Each canvas is hand-glued to solid wood stretcher bars and stretched over 1.25-inch-thick pine bars. Mounting brackets are included. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Giclée Art Print

Our Giclée prints are produced using premium 200gsm semi-gloss paper and high-quality archival inks. Each print includes a white border around the perimeter.

For the 40 x 60 size, we use 250gsm museum-quality archival paper with an off-white, uncoated finish.

The listed size refers to the overall paper dimensions. The image is printed proportionally within the selected paper size. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

ChromaLuxe

ChromaLuxe prints use a state-of-the-art coating process that infuses the image directly onto sheets of alloy metal. The result is photography with an exceptional combination of vibrancy, clarity, and durability.

Each print arrives ready to hang. An alloy subframe on the back allows the artwork to float away from the wall for a sleek, modern appearance. This is the finest-quality print we offer. Made in the USA.
