This official archive photograph is a close detail of the BOSS 302 hockey stick side stripe on a dark blue 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302.

About This Image

A close detail of the BOSS 302 side stripe on a dark blue 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302, shot low against the track surface.

What Is in This Photograph?

A tight, shallow-focus view along the flank of the car from just above the sill. The paint is a deep metallic blue, and across the door and rear quarter runs the reflective side stripe: a wide band outlined in a thin line, sweeping forward over the shoulder, with BOSS 302 lettered inside it in heavy dark capitals on two lines. The door handle and the base of the wing mirror are visible at the top of the frame, and the whole panel is carrying a mirror-sharp reflection of the tarmac, the grass verge, the tree line and the cloud. The background falls away into pale asphalt and blue sky at the right.

What Was the 2012 Boss 302?

Ford's revival of the Boss name for a two-year run in 2012 and 2013. The 5.0-litre Coyote V8 was rated at 444 horsepower and 380 lb-ft on 11.0:1 compression, with a base price around $40,995, and 3,249 Boss 302s were built for 2012 (MustangSpecs, Sports Car Market). Against the standard GT it ran higher-rate springs, a larger rear stabiliser bar, stiffer bushings and a lowered body (LMR specifications, Boss 302 Mustang).

Why Photograph the Stripe Alone?

Because the stripe is the badge. A Boss 302 has no chrome nameplate doing that work, so the graphic on the flank is how the car identifies itself, and shooting it at this distance makes the reflection in the paint part of the subject. It also produces an image that reads as abstract colour from across a room and resolves into a name up close.

Who Is This Print For?

This Boss 302 print suits Boss 302 owners, Mustang collectors, modern interiors that want graphic abstraction rather than a whole car, and narrow walls where a detail crop works better than a full vehicle. The blue and white palette is unusually easy to place. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.

Framed Print

Our framed prints feature a black, hand-stained solid wood frame with a white mat, museum-quality paper, archival inks, Acrylite glazing, and hanging hardware. The frame features a slim 0.8-inch face and projects 1.3 inches from the wall, creating a clean, contemporary shadow-box effect. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Stretched Canvas

Our stretched canvas prints are produced on acid-free, pH-neutral, and fade-resistant canvas. Each canvas is hand-glued to solid wood stretcher bars and stretched over 1.25-inch-thick pine bars. Mounting brackets are included. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Giclée Art Print

Our Giclée prints are produced using premium 200gsm semi-gloss paper and high-quality archival inks. Each print includes a white border around the perimeter.

For the 40 x 60 size, we use 250gsm museum-quality archival paper with an off-white, uncoated finish.

The listed size refers to the overall paper dimensions. The image is printed proportionally within the selected paper size. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

ChromaLuxe

ChromaLuxe prints use a state-of-the-art coating process that infuses the image directly onto sheets of alloy metal. The result is photography with an exceptional combination of vibrancy, clarity, and durability.

Each print arrives ready to hang. An alloy subframe on the back allows the artwork to float away from the wall for a sleek, modern appearance. This is the finest-quality print we offer. Made in the USA.
