FordImages Image Rights & Licensing

Images displayed on FordImages.com are provided for viewing, purchase, and/or licensing subject to applicable copyright, trademark, contractual, and other intellectual-property rights. Images from Ford Motor Company and the Carroll Shelby Archives are sub-licensed by FordImages and are generally available for licensing pending due diligence regarding the requested use.

Images from The Henry Ford Museum are not sub-licensed by FordImages; licensing for those images is handled by the museum itself.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, images may not be copied, downloaded, reproduced, published, distributed, modified, displayed, incorporated into another work, used in advertising, used for commercial purposes, or otherwise exploited without prior written authorization and an appropriate license.

FordImages acts as an authorized licensee, sub-licensor, or distributor for selected archival photographs and image collections. Copyright ownership may belong to Ford Motor Company, the original photographer, an archive, museum, estate, or another rights holder. The specific rights holder may vary by image.
Purchase of a print, canvas, metal print, apparel item, or other physical product does not transfer copyright or grant reproduction rights in the underlying image.
Commercial, editorial, publishing, advertising, broadcast, merchandise, exhibition, and other reproduction uses require a separate image license unless expressly stated otherwise.

To request a license, please use the License This Image link on the relevant image page or contact FordImages with the image archive number, intended use, territory, distribution, publication size, and duration.
FordImages archive numbers, captions, credits, copyright notices, and other metadata should remain associated with the image where technically possible.
Unauthorized reproduction or distribution may constitute copyright infringement and may also violate trademark or contractual rights.

Third-party archival material

FordImages does not claim copyright ownership merely because an image is displayed on FordImages.com. Where copyright is held by Ford Motor Company, a photographer, estate, museum, archive, or other party, that ownership should be identified in the image metadata or licensing documentation where known.
