About This Image
About This Image
A silver 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra photographed in the studio on a mirrored floor, with a blue 1970 Mustang fastback standing behind it.
What Is in This Photograph?
A high colour studio shot against a graduated backdrop running from deep amber at the top to warm grey. The Cobra is in the foreground in silver, seen from a raised front three-quarter angle: twin bonnet vents, a honeycomb lower grille with the running horse badge on a body-colour panel, projector headlamps with amber lenses, five-spoke alloys and a rear lip spoiler. Behind and above it sits a dark blue fastback with a bonnet scoop, side stripes, a chin spoiler and a rear deck spoiler on Magnum-style wheels. Both cars are reflected in the polished floor, and nothing else is in the frame.
What Is the 2003 SVT Cobra?
The car enthusiasts call the Terminator. Ford's Special Vehicle Team fitted an Eaton supercharger, borrowed from the F-150 SVT Lightning, and a water-to-air intercooler to the 4.6-litre DOHC 32-valve V8, taking output to 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft, on an independent rear suspension (Hagerty, 2003 SVT Cobra overview). The engine used a cast-iron block to take the boost (TopSpeed).
Why Pair It With a 1970 Car?
Because the argument being made is inheritance. A supercharged, independently sprung Mustang was a long way from a 1970 fastback in every mechanical respect, so the photograph puts the two nose to nose and lets the stripes, the scoop and the spoilers carry the family resemblance. Shooting both on a mirrored floor doubles each car and keeps the frame clean of anything that would date the set.
Who Is This Print For?
This Mustang print suits SVT Cobra owners, Mustang collectors across generations, garages and offices, and rooms that can take a warm amber image. Two cars in one clean studio frame make it a natural single print rather than part of a pair. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.
