What Is in This Photograph?

Panned from the outside of the corner, so the car is sharp and everything around it is pulled into motion blur: the red and white kerb stones, the striped run-off, the grass beyond. The Mustang is in dark blue with red and white detailing, carrying the full GT3 aerodynamic package, a deep front splitter, dive planes, vented bonnet, wide arches and a tall swan-neck rear wing. The silhouette is still recognisably a Mustang, which is the entire commercial point of a GT3 car.

What Is the Mustang GT3?

It is Ford's customer and factory GT3 racer, built with Multimatic on the seventh-generation Mustang, campaigned by Ford Performance in top-level sports car racing including Le Mans and sold to customer teams for series such as GT World Challenge Europe and the DTM. It sits above the Mustang GT4 and the Dark Horse R in Ford's competition ladder, and it also served as a development platform for the road-going Mustang GTD.
