This official factory/archive photograph shows two 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse coupes, one red and one blue, on the painted start line of a speedway, the 500-horsepower model that tops the seventh-generation Mustang range.

About This Image

Two 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse coupes on the painted start line of a speedway, red in the foreground and blue behind, empty grandstands rising in the background.

What Is in This Photograph?

The start and finish line is painted with stars and stripes and the chequered band runs across the bottom of the frame. The red car sits three-quarter front with its Brembo calipers picked out in blue behind dark alloy wheels; the blue car is further back and turned the other way, so the pair show both ends of the model at once. The circuit is deserted. Ford photographs performance cars on empty tracks precisely because it removes every reference except the vehicle.

What Is the Dark Horse?

It is the most powerful naturally aspirated Mustang Ford has built and the top of the seventh-generation range. Its fourth-generation Coyote 5.0-litre V8 produces 500 horsepower at 7,250 rpm and 418 pound-feet, using strengthened internals, a dual air intake system and the option of a Tremec six-speed manual. Chassis changes include stiffer front subframe bracing, MagneRide dampers and specific aerodynamics.

Is There a Racing Version?

Yes, and it is the reason the name matters. The Dark Horse forms the basis of the Dark Horse R, a turn-key race car delivered in white for the single-make Mustang Challenge series, and it sits beneath the Mustang GT4 and the Multimatic-built Mustang GT3 in Ford's competition programme. The road car is the entry point to that family rather than a trim level above a GT.

Who Is This Print For?

This Dark Horse print suits Mustang owners, track day drivers, V8 enthusiasts, dealership showrooms and garage interiors. A pair of cars on a start line reads as competition rather than product photography, which suits a space where cars are worked on or talked about. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.

About the Artwork

Framed Print

Our framed prints feature a black, hand-stained solid wood frame with a white mat, museum-quality paper, archival inks, Acrylite glazing, and hanging hardware. The frame features a slim 0.8-inch face and projects 1.3 inches from the wall, creating a clean, contemporary shadow-box effect. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Stretched Canvas

Our stretched canvas prints are produced on acid-free, pH-neutral, and fade-resistant canvas. Each canvas is hand-glued to solid wood stretcher bars and stretched over 1.25-inch-thick pine bars. Mounting brackets are included. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Giclée Art Print

Our Giclée prints are produced using premium 200gsm semi-gloss paper and high-quality archival inks. Each print includes a white border around the perimeter.

For the 40 x 60 size, we use 250gsm museum-quality archival paper with an off-white, uncoated finish.

The listed size refers to the overall paper dimensions. The image is printed proportionally within the selected paper size. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

ChromaLuxe

ChromaLuxe prints use a state-of-the-art coating process that infuses the image directly onto sheets of alloy metal. The result is photography with an exceptional combination of vibrancy, clarity, and durability.

Each print arrives ready to hang. An alloy subframe on the back allows the artwork to float away from the wall for a sleek, modern appearance. This is the finest-quality print we offer. Made in the USA.
