About This Image

The rear of a Ford Mustang GTD in a wind tunnel, photographed close on the wing, the GTD badge and the diffuser, with the rolling road belt visible under the car.

What Is in This Photograph?

A tall, tight view from directly behind at bumper height. The swan-neck wing crosses the top of the frame, mounted on curved struts that meet the deck from above. Below it the honeycomb rear panel carries the GTD badge, flanked by the tri-bar tail lights lit red. A white plate with the running horse sits centrally, and beneath that the diffuser opens with two large oval tailpipes set into it. The rear tyre spreads visibly under load, and the dark belt of the rolling road runs across the bottom of the frame between metal floor plates. The light is cool and directional.

Why Is the Rolling Road Important?

Because a stationary floor lies. Ford tests in a Rolling Road Wind Tunnel that simulates wind and road surface speeds up to 200 mph, so the belt moves beneath the car and the wheels turn, which is the only way to evaluate underbody flow and wheel wake as they actually behave (Ford Media). Everything visible here, the wing, the diffuser and the exhaust exits, works on air that has already passed under the car.

What Is the Mustang GTD?

A road car developed out of Ford's Mustang GT3 programme, with a supercharged 5.2-litre Predator V8 producing 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft through a rear-mounted transaxle, 202 mph claimed and a Nürburgring lap under seven minutes (Autoblog, Motor Authority). Ford engineers even used 3D printing to make aerodynamic changes at the track during the record attempt (3DPrinting.com).

Who Is This Print For?

This Mustang GTD print suits aerodynamicists and engineers, GTD owners and reservation holders, motorsport workshops, and anyone who prefers a detail study to a full-car portrait. The vertical format suits a narrow wall, a stairwell or a pair hung either side of a door. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée.

Framed Print

Our framed prints feature a black, hand-stained solid wood frame with a white mat, museum-quality paper, archival inks, Acrylite glazing, and hanging hardware. The frame features a slim 0.8-inch face and projects 1.3 inches from the wall, creating a clean, contemporary shadow-box effect. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Stretched Canvas

Our stretched canvas prints are produced on acid-free, pH-neutral, and fade-resistant canvas. Each canvas is hand-glued to solid wood stretcher bars and stretched over 1.25-inch-thick pine bars. Mounting brackets are included. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

Giclée Art Print

Our Giclée prints are produced using premium 200gsm semi-gloss paper and high-quality archival inks. Each print includes a white border around the perimeter.

For the 40 x 60 size, we use 250gsm museum-quality archival paper with an off-white, uncoated finish.

The listed size refers to the overall paper dimensions. The image is printed proportionally within the selected paper size. Made in the USA or Europe, depending on your location.

ChromaLuxe

ChromaLuxe prints use a state-of-the-art coating process that infuses the image directly onto sheets of alloy metal. The result is photography with an exceptional combination of vibrancy, clarity, and durability.

Each print arrives ready to hang. An alloy subframe on the back allows the artwork to float away from the wall for a sleek, modern appearance. This is the finest-quality print we offer. Made in the USA.
