What Changed for 1968?

Visually 1968 was a refinement of the 1967 car: a simplified grille with the running horse floating without its corral, revised side scoop treatment, new side marker lights and cleaner badging.

Mechanically it was a more significant year. The 302 cubic inch V8 replaced the 289, and in April 1968 Ford released the 428 Cobra Jet — conservatively rated at 335 horsepower and widely understood to produce considerably more.
