About This Image
About This Image
A Ford Bronco Raptor picking its way over boulders, front wheel loaded and body twisted across the rock. This is the suspension doing the talking.
What Is in This Photograph?
A four-door Bronco Raptor in olive green on a field of pale granite boulders, climbing from left to right under a hard blue sky. The stance is what the picture is about: enormous tyres set far outside the body, the wide fender flares that cover them, and the amber running lamps set into the grille below the BRONCO lettering. A small tree grows out of the rock behind it for scale.
What Makes a Bronco Raptor Different?
It uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 making 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet, not the 2.7 of a standard Bronco. The track is widened by roughly 9.8 inches over a normal four-door, taking it to 73.6 inches. It runs 37-inch BFGoodrich tyres as standard equipment, the largest fitted to any production vehicle at launch, on HOSS 4.0 suspension with Fox semi-active internal bypass dampers and Ford Performance control arms giving 13 inches of front and 14 inches of rear wheel travel.
Is It Built for Rock or for Speed?
Both, which is unusual. Desert Raptors are built to absorb high-speed impacts; rock crawlers are built for articulation and low-range control. The Bronco Raptor carries the long-travel dampers of the first and the front and rear locking differentials, disconnecting stabiliser bar and crawl gearing of the second. A photograph like this one demonstrates the half of the brief that the desert shots do not.
Who Is This Print For?
This Bronco Raptor print suits Bronco owners, off-road and overlanding enthusiasts, four-wheel drive clubs, dealership showrooms and garage interiors. Rock crawling photographs show articulation and clearance rather than styling, which is what this audience looks at first. Choose framed print, stretched canvas, ChromaLuxe metal or Giclée for a study, office or workshop.
