Edition differences and research limits
The two full-line sales publications give different aggregate engine-choice counts. Those counts are withheld pending dated reconciliation. The February 1964 revision of Total Performance is available as a complete PDF; its Fairlane spread is PDF page 5. It does not count as another publication family.
Shop Tips provides a useful engine, transmission and dimension research table, but a specification appearing there is not automatically a three-source verified entry. Detailed engine ratings, dimensions, option restrictions, service intervals, production totals, VIN and paint codes, prices and changeover dates remain pending corroboration. Thunderbolt and other competition specifications are outside this production reference.
